VANME & Schnierle
VANME has been working closely with Herman Schnierle since 2018. As an official installation partner for Schnierle’s high-quality system floors and seating systems, we combine certified safety with individual campervan fittings.
Hermann Schnierle GmbH is one of the most experienced manufacturers of vehicle seats and system floors in Europe. Founded in 1966 in Augsburg as an upholstery and saddlery, the company has developed over the decades into an internationally active industrial company with around 250 employees and over 25,000 m² of production space at three locations. The head office is located in Gersthofen near Augsburg, with further production facilities in Augsburg-Lechhausen and in Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania.
What sets Schnierle apart from many suppliers is its vertical integration. The company not only develops seating systems and floor systems, but also operates its own accredited tensile test facility, where all products are tested in accordance with the European ECE R-14 and ECE R-16 guidelines. TÜV Rheinland, RDW (Netherlands), UTAC (Great Britain) and other European testing institutes have accredited this facility. The company also has its own in-house sewing and saddlery – the roots of craftsmanship are still an integral part of production today.
Schnierle is run by the third generation of the family and has been 100% family-owned since 2022. This independence enables long-term development decisions that are not driven by quarterly figures – a factor that is reflected in the product quality. The company is ISO 9001:2015-certified, a certified Ford Pro Convertor and holds a Stellantis quality certificate.
Schnierle system floors and airline rails – the basis for flexible room concepts
A system floor is the invisible foundation of a modular camper van conversion. It determines where and how seats, furniture and cargo are attached and must not only withstand high mechanical loads, but also meet the requirements of vehicle testing.
There are three vehicle floor systems to choose from, which are used at VANME depending on the project requirements. The aluminum floor system is a full-surface floor panel system made of aluminum with integrated airline rails – fastening rails according to aviation standards into which seats and foot systems can be clicked without tools. This creates a vehicle floor that can be fitted with rows of seats, lashing eyes or load securing equipment as required and can be completely reconfigured within minutes.
The Rail-In system follows a similar principle, but relies on rails embedded in the vehicle floor instead of a full-surface floor panel system. This is the right choice for conversion concepts where the original floor of the vehicle is to be retained. For the Mercedes Sprinter VS30, the Quick Out VS30 was developed as a vehicle-specific floor system that can be connected to the body via the OEM attachment points and does not require any additional drilling.
For VANME, the combination of Schnierle system floors and the associated seating systems is a central component because both product groups are certified as a coordinated overall system. This constellation simplifies approval and ensures that the seat, base and floor function as a tested unit – without having to compile evidence of individual components.
Schnierle installation partner since 2018
VANME has been an official Schnierle installation partner since 2018. Specifically, this means that we are trained and authorized by the manufacturer to professionally integrate seating systems and system floors into our camper van conversions. This direct relationship enables us to access the entire product range and coordinate project-specific adaptations if required – whether special upholstery fabrics, individual seating arrangements or tailor-made floor configurations.
In practice, the planning of seating systems at VANME begins in the design phase of a project. Before the first touches are made to the vehicle, it is clear which seats will be installed in which arrangement and on which floor system. This integrative approach ensures that the overall layout of the camper – kitchen, sleeping area, storage space, seating group – functions as a coherent spatial concept and not as a series of individual components.
Retrofitting Schnierle seats or system shelves
All products can also be retrofitted to existing vehicles. Anyone who owns a camper or van and would like to replace the existing seating solution with a tested system can order a retrofit from VANME. We check the vehicle base, advise on the appropriate configuration and take care of the installation as well as the complete documentation for vehicle approval.
